We are living during a time of increasing communal polarization. We tend to live and operate within the sphere of our own bubbles and worldviews and are often not equipped to have conversations about important topics impacting the Jewish (and secular!) world with people of differing opinions. Yet to be a strong community of engaged Jews, we must be in relationship and dialogue with others who see things differently than we do.
In response to this, UJA is bringing For the Sake of Argument in from Israel to run workshops for our community. Authors and educators Robbie Gringras and Abi Dauber Sterne focus on helping communities develop the skills of passionate, healthy disagreement for the sake of growth. Their work is timely and important for us here in Toronto, as well as for the larger Jewish world. In bringing them to Toronto, our goal is to empower our community- YOU- to have healthy, thoughtful arguments with friends, families, colleagues and the greater community about the issues that are important to us all.
