"The need to search, the inner compulsion to talk – this is the root of the imperative of Holocaust remembrance." – Rabbi Erwin Schild
Join the Toronto Holocaust Museum for a special tour in memory of Rabbi Erwin Schild’s incredible story. Beginning with the Museum’s 2022 film showcasing Schild’s remarkable life, visitors can explore the Museum through his captivating testimony, artifacts, and photographs. Rabbi Schild was just weeks away from his Bar Mitzvah when the Nazis came to power in Germany. After surviving the Kristallnacht pogrom and Dachau Concentration Camp, he escaped to London in 1939 only to be interned in Canada as an enemy alien. Schild went on to become one of the country’s most beloved and influential rabbis. The tour will also include artifact highlights and a deep dive into his testimony. Join us in honouring Rabbi Schild’s legacy and incredible life.
