Pekka Sinervo, C.M., a professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto as well as a past-President of the Reform Jewish Community of Canada, will weave together Science and Judaism for an engaging and inspiring presentation! Pekka will discuss what we know about the Universe, both the very large and the very small, from its birth, starting with the Big Bang 14 billion years ago until present day. B'reishit gives us another story. Together we will learn how we can understand both of these together–where the stories intersect and where they diverge, with a firmly Jewish lens.

We encourage attendees to support our efforts to combat hunger by bringing a donation for the Food Bank bins in our lobby or by making a donation to our Fighting Food Insecurity Fund in lieu of an event fee.
