Alison Pick – author of Between Gods, discussing her new novel Strangers With the Same Dream
Alison will talk about her new book, Strangers With the Same Dream, set in Palestine in 1921. Her memoir Between Gods, won the Canadian Jewish Book Award and was shortlisted for both the BC National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction and for the prestigious JQ Wingate Prize in the UK. Her best-selling novel Far To Go was nominated for the Man Booker Prize, and won the Canadian Jewish Book Award. Strangers With the Same Dream tells of a band of young Jewish pioneers, many escaping violence in their homelands, who set out to realize a utopian dream: the founding of a kibbutz on a patch of land that will, twenty-five years later, become part of the State of Israel.
