A Temple Sinai Program – Shabbat Shirah
The celebration of Shabbat Shirah, the Shabbat on which the Song of the Sea is read as part of the Torah portion for that morning, is a musical Shabbat experience featuring our multi-generational choir, ensemble choir and Temple Sinai band with special music exploring timely issues in contemporary style and performance. Our tradition speaks of the Israelites crossing the Sea of Reeds in song and dance with Miriam in the lead and timbrels in their hands. It was this combination of ruach (courageous spirit) that gave the Israelites the strength to emerge from the burden of Egypt. Time: 10:00 a.m. 210 Wilson Avenue.
