Many Jews think that the mystics of Kabbalah were a “fringe element” in their community. Yet current research has shown that mystics were at the core of Jewish life and thought. In our course, we shall explore a few periods of Jewish history in which Kabbalah flourished and we’ll see the challenges that the mystics lay at our feet to enrich our own Jewish life in the 21st century.
