After private discussions on contemporary issues relating to Israel and today’s Jewish world, Rabbi Baruch Frydman-Kohl of Beth Tzedec Congregation, Rabbi Yael Splansky of Holy Blossom Temple, and Rabbi Chaim Strauchler of Shaarei Shomayim Congregation have decided to bring their congregations and the broader community into the conversation.
Among the strategic and soul-searching questions these rabbis ask themselves and one another are: How do we rally greater support for Israel among Toronto Jews of all ages and all denominations? What role do we have to play in responding to anti-Israel attitudes and in negotiating the shifting sands of political support for Israel? And how do we navigate the painful complexities of religious pluralism in Israel and the Diaspora?
All are most welcome.
