A Strong Foundation for the Future

The Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto is dedicated to creating long term resources to meet the challenges and needs of the Jewish community. As UJA Federation’s endowment development and planned giving program, the Foundation works in partnership with individuals, families and private foundations to enhance Jewish community life. Together we are transforming and enriching lives.

Currently under the leadership of Fred Waks, the Jewish Foundation has amassed over $530 million in total assets and planned gifts since its inception. The moment he came on board, Fred led by example and established his own Jewish legacy by endowing his gift to United Jewish Appeal’s Annual Campaign. As our endowment fund and our planned gifts in the form of life insurance and charitable bequests continue to increase, we feel secure that the Jewish community will be strong and vibrant for the next generation. 

The impact of the Jewish Foundation and its generous donors has been felt across the Greater Toronto area and in Israel with over $92 million distributed to worthy organizations over the past 5 years. These grants support the education, welfare and social programs that are vital to the ongoing strength of our community.
