We’re guided by the values and spirituality that have sustained Jews for generations. We have a history filled with grand achievements, terrible pain, and extraordinary hope. We belong here. We belong to each other. Nothing will change that.
Who we are defines what we do. We give. We remember. We educate. We take care of each other at home and around the world. We stand up for what we believe in. And we make the world a better one for all. We do all of this and much more through UJA. Because when we work together as one people, we build up the very best of who we are.
For more than a century, UJA’s Annual Campaign has played an iconic role in shaping our community into the exceptional one we live in today. It strengthens and grows our community, which requires ongoing care and investment to continue thriving. The Annual Campaign also tackles the most urgent challenges facing the Jewish people today.
Gifts to the Annual Campaign are used to take care of our extended, Jewish family in many ways: helping those struggling with poverty, fighting antisemitism with the people of Israel, developing Jewish identity in our young people, deepening our ties to Israel, and more.
Our three critical priorities for the 2023 Annual Campaign are:
Your gift will help community members struggling with poverty live dignified lives.
Jews in the GTA struggles with poverty.
Last year alone, UJA-funded social service agencies helped approximately 21,000 clients.
Your gift will empower our community to continue moving from defence to offence in the fight against hate.
Jews remain the most targeted group for hate crimes in Toronto.
UJA’S multifaceted antisemitism strategy includes education, advocacy, community security, volunteer mobilization, and a new social media campaign coming in 2023.
Your gift will help Jews overseas rebuild their lives and communities in the wake of trauma and suffering.
Within one month of Russia's invasion, three out of four Ukrainian Jews had fled the country--150,000 people.
UJA partner agencies have helped tens of thousands of Ukrainian Jews fleeing war, and Israeli victims of terror overcoming trauma and violence. No matter where they are in the world, we leave no Jewish family member behind.
