The following opportunities are currently available within our Annual Campaign fundraising team:

  • All positions require: completion of a post-secondary degree in Social Sciences, Business, Public Affairs, or Jewish Communal Service; several years of experience in the field of Fundraising, Jewish Communal Service, or Sales; experience working with volunteers and donors; ability to meet established fundraising goals: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet timelines; excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop and build relationships; excellent communication and motivational skills. Must be a team player and be willing to serve as an ambassador for this organization’s leading role in the community.

    These are full-time positions, at varying levels. Competitive salary commensurate with experience; excellent benefits package.

    Events/Sponsorship Fundraiser   ( #EF – 010)
  • Passion for the Jewish community, Israel and improving the lives of the vulnerable
  • Overall responsibility for specific events and groups of events which raise funds for the organization (examples: Walk with Israel, SMASH, fundraising dinners).
  • Develop and implement creative event strategies to obtain sponsorships and engage donors.
  • Point person in dealing with lay leaders and committees working on events.
  • Interface with Campaign Professionals and other event planners as part of larger fundraising team, to ensure that fundraising goals are met through events.
  • Donor relations including education and cultivation, obtaining gifts, and follow-up.
  • Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task, in order to meet tight timelines

    Direct Marketing/Fundraising Associate   ( #DMF - 110)

  • Passion for the Jewish community, Israel and improving the lives of the vulnerable
  • Overall responsibility for direct marketing fundraising aspects of the annual campaign, which includes a significant proportion, in numbers and value,   of total gifts, as well as special appeals.
  • Direct Marketing aspects currently encompass telephone, mail, electronic and other distinct direct marketing efforts .
  • Work with lay leaders and committees to ensure  broad base  of recruitment of volunteers for direct marketing efforts.
  • Work as part of a larger team with other campaign  and marketing professionals to ensure that fundraising goals are met
  • Donor relations including education and cultivation, obtaining gifts, and follow-up.
  • Create awareness among specific new donors.
  • Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task, in order to meet tight timelines

    Campaign Associate – Young Leadership   ( #CAYL – 210)

  • Primarily responsible for donors and potential donors in the 25-40 age category, focusing  on those seen as future leaders
  • Interface with other professionals as part of a team working to  engage  young members in the work of our organization
  • Work with campaign team, including event fundraisers, to meet specific campaign goals.
  • Work with lay leadership, committees and volunteer canvassers to ensure that fundraising and other goals are met.
  • Donor relations including education and  cultivation, obtaining gifts, and follow-up.
  • Create awareness among specific new donors.

  • Interface with Campaign Professionals and event planners as part of larger fundraising team, to ensure that goals are met.

  • Assist with overall annual campaign management including:

    Women’s Philanthropy Associate   ( #WP – 510)

  • Passion for the Jewish community, Israel and improving the lives of the vulnerable
  • Work under the supervision of the Executive Director of Women’s Philanthropy and closely with other campaign professionals.
  • Focus efforts on assistance with various aspects of Women’s Philanthropy and  broader fundraising initiatives within the  annual campaign
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to engage community members in the work of the organization.
  • Work with lay leadership, committees and volunteer canvassers to ensure that fundraising and other goals are met.
  • Donor relations including cultivation, obtaining gifts, and follow-up.
  • Create awareness among specific new donors.
  • Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task, in order to meet tight timelines.

    Top Gifts Associate    ( #TG – 610)

  • Passion  for the Jewish community, Israel and improving the lives of the vulnerable
  • Work within the Top Gifts team to engage current major donors and to develop potential major donors
  • Interface  with campaign professionals and event planners as part of larger fundraising team, to ensure that fundraising  and other goals are met
  • Work with lay leadership, committees, and volunteer canvassers to ensure fundraising goals are met
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to enhance sophisticated fundraising efforts
  • Donor relations including cultivation , obtaining gifts, and follow-up with current donors as well as next generation of major donors
  • Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task, in order to meet tight timelines.

Working within the Donor Services Team, and working closely with the Finance Department,  the Business Operations Coordinator will be  responsible for developing and implementing procedures related to pledge redemptions and  stock transactions; managing initiatives related to other giving opportunities; and, other related customer service duties as assigned.   

 Some specific duties include:                                                                                                                                                                                                                

  • Analyzes reports of outstanding pledges and establishes goals for collections
  • Works with fundraising staff to meet collections goals
  • Oversees pledge redemption collection staff
  • Reviews accounts and processes payments for  Israel Bonds, United Way, etc..
  • Maintains all material relevant to stock donations, including spreadsheets, confirmations, receipts, etc
  • Interfaces with donors, volunteers, agencies, banks, brokerages

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of University degree, preferably B.Com or B.BA.
  • Experience working in a financial environment
  • Experience in customer service
  •  Demonstrated skill with advanced computer programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently  as well as in a  team.
  • Ability to  plan, analyze, evaluate, and solve problems
  • Must be  able to multi-task yet maintain  a high degree of attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and  communication skills
