Baked Apples

6 apples
1/2 cup candied OR plain unsalted nuts finely chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 can Fresca
vanilla ice cream

Number of servings: 6
Oven temperature: 325ºF


Remove and discard the cores from the apples.  In a small bowl, combine the nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.  Blend well.  Spray 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray and place apples in dish.  Fill the cores with the nut mixture.  If there is any nut mixture left, sprinkle on top of apples.  Gently pour the Fresca over the apples.  Bake at 325ºF for about 25-30 minutes until soft.

Tips and Advice:

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
