This unique tune was sampled and mixed by Israel's own DJ BrainDeaD ahead of our Yom Ha'atzmaut Blue and White Birthday Bash. This one of a kind party will take place on April 19th at the Science Centre. If you haven't had a chance yet, check out the event page and get your tickets today!
Composed by Yoav Talmi in 1963, this is the official tune traditionally played at official national ceremonies and festive events. Yoav Talmi later became the manager and musical director of the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec between 1998-2011.
Fun fact: until 1963 Israel never had an official march tune. Talmi's tune was selected from 208 others submitted to a national competition and played live to the entire country. Since then it became an Israeli staple on the official Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day) celebrations in Jerusalem.
