UJA Stands United with Sri Lanka in the Aftermath of Tragedy

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto is overwhelmed by the desecration of the Easter holiday in Sri Lanka, by the murder and wounding of hundreds of innocent worshippers, tourists, and other victims, and by the destruction wrought by hatred and violence.

“We stand united with our Sri Lankan neighbours in Toronto, and we mourn together with Sri Lankans and people of goodwill everywhere,” said Adam Minsky, President and CEO of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. “The Jewish community fully understands the horror and futility of such devastating acts of terror. Our hearts go out to those who have been injured, and to the families and friends of loved ones who have been lost.”

“In the face of such tragedy we stand in solidarity with those targeted in Sri Lanka, to affirm our common humanity, and to worship as we choose - in freedom, without fear of harm.

May the memories of those lost to this senseless atrocity be for a blessing,” added Minsky.
