Kinder Sports is a preschool & daycare for children ages 16 months to 4 years old with full time and part time options.
Educational Philosophy
We teach children through giving them the opportunity to play as research shows that young children learn most through a play- based curriculum. The beauty of such a curriculum is that children learn to solve problems, share goals and acquire flexibility. Playing with peers also seeds the development of empathy, a key ingredient for intellectual and social-emotional success.
Our school offers sports activities to the children enrolled in the preschool program. Sports is done indoors and in the beautiful outdoor space.
We enthusiastically embrace our roots and focus on Jewish pride through learning about Jewish traditions. Upcoming holidays play a central role in the curriculum, shaping the learning program. Life lessons are taught to the children in a simple way so that each child can connect and then build for the future.
At Kinder Sports, we know that children's brains are elastic and our goal is to stretch their minds and inspire them through tangible experiences and concrete learning. Our children learn Judaic studies, math, literacy, the arts, and moral values. Our goal is to nurture each child's personal journey towards social, emotional, and educational growth.
Curriculum and Skill Building
The letter of the week is a focus of the learning program. Themes, art, and activities are based on the letter of the week. Children are encouraged to bring in an item of sentimental value beginning with the letter to share with their friends.
Kinder Sports strives to create an environment that leads to intellectual, emotional, social, and moral development. Through engaging teacher-student dialogue and multi-sensory materials and activities, teachers engage students' curiosity and encourage them to make discoveries about their environment. Sensory play gives children the opportunity to explore, process, and come to understand the world around them.
Though literacy activities and print rich classrooms, students develop a passion for literature and begin to understand the many values and uses of printed text. Pre-math explorations and manipulatives allow children to develop understandings of numerals, shapes, patterns, measurement, and logical thinking. By developing and practicing these skills, children at Kinder Sports build the conceptual foundations for their academic endeavors and beyond.
Shabbat
The celebration of Shabbat is real highlight at Kinder Sports. The children learn how to braid challah and take it home for Shabbat dinner. A Shabbat Ema and Abba are chosen and the child leads all the children in the traditional Shabbat songs. A special atmosphere is felt in the classroom as the girls light Shabbat candles and the boys chant the kiddush Parents are invited to join and participate in the weekly Shabbat celebration. Celebrating Shabbat gives the children a sense of the beauty of Shabbat and strengthens their Jewish pride!
Judaics
Our children learn the customs, traditions, and moral values of Judaism as well the value of charity, friendship, tolerance, discipline, and respect for the environment and the rights of others. Our children eagerly anticipate holidays such as Rosh Hashanah,Chanukah, Purim and Passover and understand how to meaningfully and joyfully participate in each holiday. Our staff strives to instill our children with a love for the Torah and pride in their Jewish identities.
The Arts
Children are naturally creative and derive much pleasure from involvement in the arts. They learn a host of skills and acquire tremendous self-esteem when given varied opportunities to create. Our children use a wide array of art media including acrylic, finger, and water paints, pastels, crayons, and markers. They create their works on diverse surfaces including clay, plastic, textured papers, foam, and canvas. We celebrate our children's creativity by prominently and artfully displaying their work.
