A project supported by UJA Federation.

Mandate: To lead and promote full participation in Jewish life for people with disabilities and their families. The Vision of the Inclusion Initiative is that of a more inclusive Jewish community where people with special needs are able to fully participate in educational, spiritual, communal, social and recreational activities.

This will be accomplished by increasing community awareness of needs and concerns of people with disabilities and their families; removing barriers faced by people with disabilities and their families; changing negative exclusionary attitudes into a climate of acceptance and support by helping the community to think differently about persons with disabilities; promoting and developing models and champions of barrier free life; developing new initiatives to promote inclusion and; supporting and developing a matrix of resources through partnerships with individuals and organizations.

A number of events, programs and activities will be hosted that enable the Initiative to meet the goals of greater involvement for those individuals with special needs and their families who are marginalized.
