Behind the Books: The Stroll Family

Behind the Books offers a monthly behind the scenes glimpse into PJ Library Toronto's inner workings. This month, meet the Strolls

As a PJ Library Neighbourhood Connector, Nicole looks forward to meeting Jewish families in her neighbourhood, just like yours!

Tell us about your family!
I live in the Woodland/Harvest Hills neighbourhood in Newmarket with my husband, Dustin, and our two sons, Jamie (3) and Dylan (8 months).

What is your kids’ favourite PJ Library book?
We love all PJ library books! It is such an exciting time when they come in the mail. My 3-year-old’s current favourite is “It’s a Mitzvah, Grover” and my 8-month old loves all the ones his big brother reads with him!

What do you love most about your community?
I love how kind and neighbourly everyone is! Everyone you walk by in the neighbourhood always says hello, waves or gives you a smile!

What are some of your favourite local activities?
Swimming and playing in the play park at Ray Twinney, splash pad at Riverwalk Commons and of course, shopping at Upper Canada!

Why did you want to become a Connector?
I love meeting new people and families, especially Jewish families who have moved north (there are not that many of us yet!), and have my children make new friends. I am passionate about Jewish life and want to spread this to as many families as possible.

What is your favourite Jewish holiday?
Chanukah! I love the story, the meaning behind the holiday and the amazing spirit that is felt all around during that holiday! The food is also quite delicious :)
