Behind the Books offers a monthly behind the scenes glimpse into PJ Library Toronto's inner workings. This month, meet the Matatya Rosenberg family, a PJ family just like yours!

Originally from Montreal, the Matatya Rosenberg's live in Palmerston-Little Italy with their two-year-old daughter, Gabrielle.

We chatted with her mom, Kathleen, about her experience as a PJ Library Family

How did you hear about PJ Library?

We originally discovered PJ Library through our nephews in Montreal, who were subscribed to the program, who told us that the PJ Library books they had received were among their favourites!

What do your kids like most about PJ Library?

It’s a great program that promotes reading and exposes Gabrielle to Jewish culture and some great stories too.

How has PJ Library helped you feel closer with your community?

With our family in Montreal, we are so happy to have had the chance to connect and make friends in our area because of the programs we have discovered through PJ Library in Toronto.

Tell us about a community program/event you attended because of PJ Library?

We’ve been to a few events over the past few months, but most recently, we were invited to another PJ Library family’s house for a lovely playdate.

What would you say to a friend who had never heard about PJ Library?

The books are a fun monthly surprise to look forward to. It’s great learning more about Jewish traditions and holidays and reading together as a family.
