Where Montessori and Mesorah Meet

Written by Mesorah Montessori School

Established in 2001 Mesorah Montessori School is an Orthodox day school that has a commitment to both the Montessori Method and our original Mesorah that allows each and every child to understand his/her unique “way". Children are free to work at their own pace with materials they have chosen, either alone or with others. The teacher relies on her observations of the children to determine which new materials she may introduce to an individual child or small group.

A love of learning is cultivated at the preschool/kindergarten age so that, as they enter the elementary years, they can take on a responsibility for their learning. For the child, the methodology is extremely logical because the materials/concepts are presented from very concrete and then slowly move to the abstract. This method facilitates the child constantly working to maximize their potential.

We are so excited to announce the next stage in our school’s development. In August of this year our new home will be the third floor classrooms at Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto Synagogue in Thornhill. With this move, we have added an elementary school division. We will start the growth of this program by enrolling children in Grades 1 - 2 for the 2019-2020 school year.
