CIJA and UJA are proud to be honouring the first female premier of Canada’s most populous province who has taken a leadership role in championing inclusion of marginalized populations, recognizing the rights of the Aboriginal and LGBT communities, and demonstrating her skill at building non-confrontational consensus. With plans to open Ontario’s first Trade Office in Tel Aviv, Premier Wynne is a long-time friend and supporter of Israel. The Ontario Trade Office will open doors to exponentially greater bilateral commerce as well as increased cultural and academic exchanges. Establishment of this office at a time when others are encouraging boycotts divestment- sanctions (BDS) targeting Israel is a powerful and eloquent demonstration of her repudiation of BDS and support for the People and Land of Israel.
