We are currently seeking a part-time LTO Hebrew Resource Teacher – Grades 1 – 8, ELL & HLL.

Reports to: Head of Resource

Job Type: Part-time, LTO

Robbins Hebrew Academy is seeking a part-time LTO Resource Teacher for students requiring additional support from Grades 1 – 8 – ELL & HLL.

Key Functions:

  • Display awareness of student’s diagnoses and academic achievements; adapting teaching practices accordingly to help meet the requirements of students’ learning plans
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of all academic subjects and the ability to assist students with classwork
  • Demonstrate clear and professional boundaries with all students
  • Reinforce expectations for learning and standards for classroom participation and behaviour; encourage students’ ownership and contribution to the classroom
  • Adapt strategies to make accommodations and modifications to the students’ programs
  • Collaborate and communicate with teachers, school leadership, parents and other team members to help determine students’ needs, and adjust practices to accommodate those needs
  • Work with teachers to effectively influence student behavior through the implementation of a behavior management system, following school rules, policies, and procedures; promote positive behavior and study skills

Skills and Attributes:

  • Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers is required
  • Special Education Certification I, II, or Specialist or other relevant training
  • Excellent command of the English language
