About the Opportunity

Situated within UJA’s Integrated Development Department, the Marketing Team is a leader in the voice and brand of the entire organization, using creative content, design, multimedia, and experiences to engage community members in UJA’s mission.

Do you take pride in flawless files, speed, and execution of seamless production across multiple mediums? We are looking for a Production Artist to bring their expert knowledge of printing, prepress and digital, and manage the marketing team’s printing process. The ideal candidate will be expected to work closely with internal teams and vendors to bring projects of all kinds to life.

Reporting to the Art Director, the Production Artist will play a key role in production for print and digital media, prepress, quality control, vendor management and design consistency. The ideal candidate must be highly organized; have a keen eye for detail; and be able to format content for a wide variety of mediums.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop print and digital marketing materials according to established brand guidelines through to production
  • Retouching and colour correcting images as required
  • Using your eye for design and typography to resize and reformat creative into numerous variations for print, digital and social executions
  • Manage in-house printing
  • Create and prepare print files for custom die lines and finishes
  • Review printer proofs and samples
  • Actively support the execution of events with on-site set up and/or pre-event logistics
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of working experience as Graphic Designer/Production Artist
  • A demonstrated design ability as proven by a solid portfolio
  • Technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat, and other programs as necessary), colour management and print production, and photo editing
  • Must have strong layout skills, organizational abilities, and excellent file-categorizing ability to ensure artwork is production-ready and projects are completed on time
  • Excellent eye for quality, brand assurance, and control
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • An eagle-eye for details and quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues and vendors
  • Proactive with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in event production an asset
  • Experience in Stripo and Campaign Monitor is an asset
  • Knowledge of UX/UI is an asset
  • Video editing and animation is an asset

*This is a full-time permanent union position, classification Level C.
