About JACS Toronto

At Jewish Addiction Community Services (JACS) Toronto, our mission is to deliver unified education, programming, care, and support to all those affected by addiction in the Jewish community and beyond. JACS offers individual and group counselling sessions for clients on a sliding scale basis, and services are available to anyone regardless of their background or financial status. JACS is the only community organization able to support clients with addictions and mental health needs with no waiting list for care, which allows us to provide immediate, barrier-free support to those in need.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will manage and expand JACS’ social media presence through strategic content creation, planning, design, and community engagement. Additionally, the coordinator will produce creative designs for events, newsletters, and marketing materials, contributing to the organization’s overall success. We are looking for a creative problem-solver with a sharp eye for design, strong attention to detail, and a passion for making a meaningful impact.

We are seeking someone who possesses the following skill set:

Education & Experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience; non-profit experience is a significant asset
  • A minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience
  • University or college degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) and web design/content management software
  • Experience with web-based advertising tools and marketing platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage social media strategies across multiple platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, DonorPerfect, SiteGround, and/or Elementor is an asset.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience writing copy for various materials is an asset.

Personal Attributes

  • A proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, small-team environment
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform well under pressure.

Additional Knowledge/Experience

  • Familiarity with the Jewish community, GTA Jewish institutions, and Jewish customs
  • Experience working with Jewish organizations is a major asset
  • Understanding of addiction and mental health is considered a major asset
  • Fluency in Hebrew is an asset.

This position offers a competitive salary of $60,000-80,000, commensurate with education and experience. Health benefits and paid time off may also be included. The successful candidate will report to the VP, Marketing and will be expected to work regularly at JACS’ office.
