This past fiscal year has been one of much growth and success for the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, and we look forward to sharing some highlights with you.
Looking back on this year, we have much to celebrate. The Jewish Foundation has expanded to over 650 funds and $410 million in assets, planned gifts and expectancies. Collectively, the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto’s wonderful family of donors distributed over $20 million to more than 300 organizations in Toronto, Israel, and around the world. As well, we achieved an 11.1% return on our endowment portfolio this past fiscal year.
The future of our Jewish community is in good hands, as 2010/2011 also marked fantastic growth for the B’nai Tzedek Teen Philanthropy program. With over 180 young participants committed to helping others and making a difference in the world, our teen philanthropists made an extraordinary impact on our community this year.
We should take pride in the overwhelming commitment and support we have been able to show our community. Our successes and growth this year would not have been possible without our devoted family of donors, community leaders and selfless volunteers. It is a comfort to know that as the needs of Jewish Toronto continue to grow, our Foundation grows stronger and more committed each year to meet them.
