The Jewish Toronto idea is simple:
Together UJA and our partner agencies serve over 25,000 Jews in need throughout the GTA, including those who are most vulnerable and most at risk, providing a safety net and a hand up, lifting many to self sufficiency.
Since the birth of Israel in 1948, Jewish Toronto has focused on Israel's most vulnerable. UJA, with the Jewish Agency for Israel, has ensured the integration of over 3 million Jews, including Ethiopian Israelis and Israelis from the FSU. UJA has helped transform the Eilat/Eilot region, Sderot and Bat Yam. UJA is also a global 911 for Jews in crisis around the world.
Advocacy is a watchword of Jewish Toronto. UJA Federation ensures we speak out on issues at the federal, provincial and local levels, whether it's anti-Semitism, delegitimization of Israel, human rights or any other issue. This is achieved through support for the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, support for students on university campuses and grassroots activism. |
